Overall Purpose of the Post: As the council embarks upon on a journey to the Digital Age, no role is more important than that of the Business Analyst. You will be required to engage with all areas of the organisation to gain an in-depth understanding of business processes and articulating business requirements to enable technical teams to create high level applications for the residents of Wakefield. As the Business Analyst you will create a vision and have the ability to bring people along the journey, influencing those around you to champion your vision. Responsibilities: * Develop a thorough understanding of business needs * Documentation of current business process * Challenge ways of working * Become a champion for the Council’s Enterprise Application platform – understanding the architecture and what is possible * Continually explore service improvement * Wireframing – enabling people to understand the potential user experience You will need the gravitas to challenge senior members of the Council on the current ways of working and have the ability to succinctly articulate your suggestions for business and service improvement. You will be required to effectively communicate business needs to ensure stakeholders have a shared understanding. Therefore, we are looking to speak to experienced Business Analysts. Background: * Very strong understanding of how to investigate and analyse current business process * Experience of exploring opportunities for business and service improvement * Ability to articulate how to solve complex problems to both a technical and non-technical audience * Extensive working knowledge and experience of operating within an Agile environment * Experience of producing wireframes * Strong stakeholder engagement skills, ability to educate them along the journey What’s on offer?
