A globally focused, highly complex business are about to embark on a large scale transformational initiative with the aim of providing the customer with a service of excellence. As part of this change initiative the organisation wish to appoint a Director of Supply Chain Platform Development who will take full accountability for the innovation, design and build of the a truly forward thinking, multi tenanted supply chain global platform.
The organisation wish to create a multi tenancy architecture focused environment where a single instance of a software application can serve multiple customers, or in this case, tenants across their business globally. The group recognise that with the utilisation of a multi tenancy architecture forming the basis of their supply chain, they will be able to make continued innovative changes and improvements to the platform (benefitting the global audience) but at the same time ensuring constant online customer access and the continued isolation and security of the client’s data.
By creating a multi tenancy SaaS platform across their supply chain this will allow them to serve their wide array of customers. These will range from smaller enterprises that don’t warrant a dedicated infrastructure through to large enterprises that need access to the Cloud’s virtually unlimited resources. The Head of Supply Chain Platform Development will need to build and launch a platform that suits all parties and at the same time provides the customers with an agile, efficient and secure engagement on a day to day basis.
Responsibilities:
- Take the lead role with the design and implementation of a next generation supply chain capability architecture ensuring the platform, tools and systems deliver significant business value.
- Drive forward a multi tenancy platform approach to supply chain operations. Own the design, implementation and management ensuring maximum customer engagement is achieved.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across multiple businesses and drive a passion for supply chain innovation and exploitation promoting the art of the possible.
- Understand the underlying, long term commercial goals of the group, and subsequently conceptualise, architect and drive a group wide supply chain strategy to match the goals.
- Drive R&D activity with supply chain at its core ensuring a world class platform is created.
- Keeps abreast of trends in the market and is aware of advances in competing/relevant businesses.
- Determine where to reduce costs, drive efficiencies and business innovation based on global insights derived from data gathering, analysis and manipulation.
Requirements:
- Experience operating in a senior level technology leadership position role across a highly complex, global organisation.
- Prior experience of building entrepreneurial, SaaS / online focused solutions with a strong supply chain exposure will be required.
- Excellent understanding of multi tenancy architectures, how to build them, implement and maximise return on investment.
- Exemplary leadership and communication ability, whilst being able to engage and influence the C suite down..
- Passion for supply chain innovation and how it can make a commercial difference to both a business and the end customer.
- Analytically and inquisitively minded, able to challenge the status quo to a new way of thinking and working.
- Highly resilient character able to demonstrate drive and ambition to reach the required goals.
- Commercially smart, able to act as an Executive Technology and Business Leader.
- Establishes credibility quickly, honest, integral and leads by example.
- Sees the bigger picture and can visualise the creation of ‘tomorrows’ organisation utilising data rich strategic insight.
