An exceptional role exists for a Director of Technical Operations who is seeking a transformational opportunity, which is intellectually challenging and critical in shaping the future IT Service landscape of one of the UK’s most trusted and recognised organisations.
Reporting to the CIO, this is a critical future focused Leadership position, accountable for the organisation’s IT systems, in addition to establishing the current and future needs and IT requirements with business leaders. The role will involve the full life cycle phases of plan, analyse, select, design, develop, implement, support, maintain, evolve and retire.
Key deliverables of this role include:
- Setting the mission and vision of the Technical Operation organisation to foster a business orientated culture and a mindset of continual service improvement techniques
- Lead the development of the Technical Operations strategy & roadmap
- Act as a Trusted advisor, building collaborative and effective relationships with key stakeholders and Business leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs. Ensuring a cost effective delivery of IT service with an agile approach to changing business priorities
- Create a Technical Operation value map, by linking targeted business outcomes with future state capability with identified initiatives for successful delivery.
- Contribute to the development of Enterprise Technology Standards, Governance process and performance metric to ensure Technical Operations delivers value to the organisation
You’ll work with internal Leaders and external advisors to build a matrix style technical and service operation, in addition to revising the target Operating model to achieve a service centric product driven environment.
Key requirements of the role include:
- Significant Leadership experience in a broad delivery role which includes, influencing senior stakeholders effectively across a complex organisation.
- Demonstrable experience in strategic planning, organisational design and development
- Experience in leading large teams through transformational change
- Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies
- Strong partnering skills to identify internal & external resource
We are looking for an inspirational leader, with a strong track record of delivering large change initiatives. The successful candidate will be naturally drive a culture of high performance and continuous improvement and have a track record to highlight this. You’ll have high levels of integrity in terms of managing risks and costs. You’re likely to be highly networked in the Technology and Change world, demonstrating continuous professional development throughout your career as well as being on the front foot of current and future Technology trends.
