We are pleased to be working with a leading bank, headquartered in Edinburgh who are undergoing an exciting period of growth and currently seek an experienced Domain Architect to join the team in a permanent capacity.
Are you looking for a role where you will be shaping and informing key architectural decisions and solution designs, helping to pivot the organisation to be more customer centric and enabling them to be the bank for the people? Responsible for multi-disciplined Proof of concept teams, Proof of activity budgets and working alongside Directors, Executives and Senior Leadership the client seeks the highest calibre of professional.
What you would be doing:
- Leading, delivering and communicating one or more technical and/or functional domains in line with the defined technology strategies and architecture of the bank.
- Delivering domain roadmaps which inform technology decisions and shape and align the investment portfolio ensuring it delivers the target architecture.
- Producing solution designs for significant use cases/projects, as agreed by the CIO LT.
- Participating in the management and maintenance of key suppliers and vendors, evaluating usefulness, maximising capabilities, cost of products and making appropriate recommendations.
- Working across the business & delivery teams to explore and agree solutions that meet business requirements within project and enterprise constraints (time/cost/strategies).
- Ensuring I am risk aware - this may include identifying, assessing, managing or mitigating risks - helping to ensure I "do the right thing" at all times.
Influencing Exec and Senior Management in technology and architecture decisions and guiding technical specialists by staying abreast of industry trends & solutions.
- Leading teams to execute technical proof-of-concept activities. Facilitating the architectural governance processes including contributing to and reviewing of scorecards.
- Applying appropriate due-diligence to ensure quality solution designs are produced that are compliant with policy and standards and are aligned with domain road maps.
- Identifying, suggesting and driving changes which support WMTY and making CIO "Simpler, Faster, Safer" - enhancing our service to customers.
What skills/experience we are looking for:
- Solution architecture & systems design.
- Knowledge of industry trends and innovations.
- Specialist architectural & technical knowledge in relevant domain(s) . e.g. data, compute & run, process management etc.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
- Demonstrable experience in working under broad direction with minimum supervision and delivering specific domain outcomes.
- Requires in-depth industry experience in IT Architecture; preferably in the relevant domain(s).
- Previous experience in Contact Centre/CRM, Telephony/Voice, Credit Risk or Fraud/Customer Security would be a bonus, as would Banking or Financial Services experience.
