Head of Development – Cheshire - £90k + Great package
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Software leader to join a rapidly expanding and ambitious organisation, based in Cheshire. This business are on a strong growth trajectory and require a technology leader to define the 5 year technology roadmap. You will be helping to drive technology change and help build and grow a fantastic development team who will help build and develop cutting edge platforms for its customers. The business are wrapping these services around best in class cloud-based technologies like AWS. They're looking for the brightest and best to help shape their future. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the technology strategy, with the view to joining the board in the near future.
With this in mind, in this role you will develop a holistic Technology strategy that embraces all our various functions, initiatives and teams into one dynamic and cohesive unit. You will work on a wide variety of projects ensuring effective inter-personal communication, planning and reporting to ensure projects are of a high quality, fit for purpose and delivered on time. The ideal candidate will be comfortable at board room level and have an excellent and demonstrable track record of managing people and projects.
Further to the above, you must be commercially minded and a forward thinking IT leader who is comfortable with being a visible leader to both internal and external customers. You will have strong knowledge of software development and IT related business operations (full software development lifecycle, UX/UI, Front-End facing projects etc.), alongside experience of building cross platform applications with extensive web experience.
In keeping with a vision of growth, we need someone who is also able to manage the medium/long term goals of bringing 3rd party suppliers in house and managing this resource effectively. A key measure of success for this individual will be their ability to ensure the continuous improvement of their team; adding value and delivering in line with expectations of both the forecast project work whilst also setting out a new strategy to adhere to.
Required skills;
- Excellent understanding of multiple Project Management methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, Prince2, Waterfall etc)
- Strong knowledge of software development and IT related business operations (full software development lifecycle, UX/UI, Front-End facing projects etc.)
- Experience of building cross platform applications with extensive web experience
- Ability to create and maintain comprehensive solution documentation
- Comfortable negotiating complex contracts and studying legal agreements
- High calibre strategic mindset with the ability to influence senior board members
- Experience working for an online and/or retail business
