Harvey Nash’s client, a Public Sector organisation based in Edinburgh, are recruiting an Information Assurance and Data Protection Advisor on an initial 3 months contract.
Role Description:
- deliver advice and guidance on data protection to internal customers
- analyse and offer feedback on data protection impact assessments and data sharing agreements
- advise and assist senior managers with minor data breaches
- deliver training on data protection and information asset management topics
- develop written procedures and guidance on data protection and information management topics
- respond to subject access requests from members of the public
- general team admin including filing emails, updating work recording spreadsheets and reporting tasks as required
Essential Skills:
- Experience of working in data protection, information security, information management or similar function with a focus on data privacy
- The ability to gather and analyse complex information and offer sound advice.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, communicating complex or specialist information clearly to a range of audiences.
- Able to work proactively and independently, show initiative and contribute ideas.
- Ability to work well in and contribute to a supportive team environment.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with experience at successful delivery.
Desirable Skills:
- Working knowledge of the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation.
Please note this opportunity this has been determined as in scope of IR35 and will require working through an umbrella.
The successful candidate should have an up to date Disclosure Scotland Certificate (dated within the last year) and will require BPSS before taking up the role.
