Harvey Nash are recruiting an Information Security Consultant on behalf of our Financial Services Client based in Edinburgh where you’ll play a dynamic role and support aspects of the Information Security Service which covers all aspects of Information Security across people, process and technology. You’ll support the team in the assessment, monitoring, assurance, governance and management of Information Security and will support the delivery of the Information Security Strategy. Typically day to day you’ll consult on information security issues, monitoring compliance to security policies and champion Information Security across the business providing assurance of 3rd parties and the internal business as well as developing user awareness.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience required
Information Security, including information security management, third party assurance, physical security, application security, network security and security incident management.
Experience of developing and managing an Information Security user awareness programme.
Good stakeholder management skills, with an ability to understand and communicate technical detail to a non-technical audience.
Risk assessment/risk management skills.
Ability to learn and develop within a role with support from a mentor.
Understanding of working in a Digital business and the impact on Information Security.
Understanding of how to apply Information Security best practice to large scale enterprise environments.
Good technical knowledge the security impact on established and up and coming technologies.
Knowledge and understanding of Financial Services regulatory/compliance requirements in information security. (Advantageous)
Experience of working with different areas (or domains) of Information Security.
Typically a background in technical IT roles such as IT architecture, development or operations, with a clear and abiding interest in information security.
Experience of working in information security management and/or related functions in financial services. (Advantageous)
