An exceptional role exists for an IT Director to deliver and shape the Future IT strategy of one of the UK’s most ambitious and trusted Universities. With an ambitious organisational vision, IT will be a strong contributor to the achievement of the University strategy and in , providing technological solutions to transform customer experience.
Reporting to the Pro Vice Chancellor this pivotal role will include shaping and delivering an IT strategy and advise the organisation on how technology can support the achievement of organisational wide ambitions, providing resilient infrastructure and enabling business outcomes around Teaching, Research and Knowledge Exchange.
Key deliverables in this role include:
* Providing strategic and commercial leadership of the organisations IT Service, developing and delivering an IT strategy which ensures a safe, efficient and effective provision which supports the delivery of the University strategy until 2023 and beyond.
* Responsibility for delivery of key business outcomes, including digital fluency and transforming operational performance through digital and integrated technology.
* Provide a critical voice within the Executive and Senior Management Team, driving cross-functional collaboration through the IT team.
* Ensure IT infrastructure is successfully exploited to achieve continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
* The post holder will consider and tackle core challenges that the organisation’s IT Service faces around downtime, customer satisfaction and most importantly project delivery.
Key requirements of the role includes:
* Significant experience in a senior commercial leadership role working successfully at a strategic level within a large, complex and rapidly changing environment.
* Track record of delivering a business driven IT service.
* Experience of building relationships and partnerships with internal and stakeholders, managing and controlling stakeholder expectations.
* Demonstrable experience in managing a large team.
* Evidence of setting the pace regarding technological innovation.
Key to this will be the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with organisations leaders and other relevant stakeholders. To succeed, the IT Director will have highly developed influencing and negotiating skills and a strong strategic focus and will be commercially aware.
