IT Operations Manager
Selby - North Yorkshire
Are you an experienced IT Operations Manager, with a strong background in network infrastructure? Are you able to lead from the from the front, set a tone within a team, and embed a great working culture? Have you previously taken ownership of a network function/tower roadmap; spearheading material change in the way network services are managed, delivered and continuously improved? If yes, Harvey Nash has an exciting opportunity for you as a IT Operations Manager within Drax Group’s Network tower.

Drax Group is one of Britain's largest energy companies. It provides 12% of the country's renewable electricity - enough to power more than 6 million homes. Drax recognise that shifting away from coal-fuelled power is essential for clean air, healthy communities, sustainable economic growth, and a safe climate.
Drax is now looking for a IT Operations Manager to join the organisation at an exciting time and ‘head up’ the Network tower, within Group IT Operations.
The right candidate will be excited for the opportunity to lead and manage a highly technical team of specialists, to deliver operational services, drive quality of service and bring improvements / new service to Drax.
The right candidate must:
- Have a strong background and understanding in network infrastructure (including but not limited to):
- Data and voice networks
- WAN and LAN technologies
- Firewalls and security
- Monitoring, event management and other operational tools
- Be able to take full ownership of a technology tower and the responsibility for the budget
- Have previous experience leading and managing a geographically dispersed team of technical specialists, driving best practise, and improving overall performance of the team through coaching and mentoring.
- Be able to effectively manage and develop key relationships with third party suppliers and service providers, making sure agreed SLAs are met.
- Be able to effectively manage and develop key relationships with internal stakeholders; including senior leadership, IT teams, Solutions Architects, other Operations Managers, and the wider business.
- Have strong experience delivering services that are focused on customer experience and business outcomes
- Have the ability to identify risks, anticipate issues and create solutions to resolve problems in relation to project or service delivery
- Be passionate towards a continual service improvement approach with strong previous history in doing so
