IT Ops Technical Lead – Network

Are you a Network Infrastructure SME and technical delivery specialist looking to join a well-established IT operations function? Do you obtain a CCNP or studying towards this qualification? Would you like be a part of an organisation playing a vital role in helping change the way energy is generated, supplied and used? If yes, Harvey Nash has an exciting role for you as an IT Ops Technical Lead.

Harvey Nash Leeds has partnered exclusively with Drax Group to deliver a campaign of technology roles within their well-established function.

Drax Group is one of Britain's largest energy companies. It provides 12% of the country's renewable electricity - enough to power more than 6 million homes. Drax recognise that shifting away from coal-fuelled power is essential for clean air, healthy communities, sustainable economic growth, and a safe climate.

Drax are now looking for an a Technical Lead to join the groups network services function. The right candidate will be excited about the opportunity to drive material changes to the way network services are managed and delivered.

The primary purpose of this role will be to support, plan and provide technical leadership for all operational and project activities; act as SME and collaborate with architects and the project teams for strategic and tactical initiatives.

To be successful in securing this role you must:

  • Currently obtain a CCNP or be studying towards this qualification
  • Have significant specific experience and knowledge of:
  • Data and voice networks
  • WAN and LAN technologies
  • Firewalls and security
  • Monitoring, event management and other operational tools
  • Have strong experience as a tech lead, being a sound point of escalation & expertise for less experienced members of the team and the wider business.
  • Have a background in delivering services that are focused on customer experience and business outcomes
  • Actively keep up to date with the latest technologies and understand how these could benefit a business.
