Harvey Nash is delighted to be working with a leading Scottish business to appoint a new Portfolio Manager to join their expanding PMO team in Glasgow city centre. You will work closely with the senior manager to build out their project governance capability business wide. focusing on planning and prioritising programme and project investment and supporting project management resources to deliver Technology workstreams.
The successful candidate will own the demand for all Technology project planning activities across current and future demands as well as working with the wider business to understand future pipeline and how the PMO will support delivery.
We're looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager with strong experience within a PMO environment with outstanding planning and management skills. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Extensive experience of strategy and project planning in a large scale technology environment
- Skilled in project management and planning methodologies, tools and processes
- Extensive experience of developing, managing and prioritizing conflicting business demand and matching it to limited resources
- Knowledge of IT technology and infrastructure terminology, manufacturing terminology is an advantage
- Ability to prioritize according to business strategy and relate organizational strategy to specific situations and business needs
- Experience of financial planning and management, including the development of business cases
- Strong leadership skills and a clear track record of delivering outstanding performance
- Strong operational experience across large scale, complex organizations (multi thousand user base)
- An ability to work effectively in a matrix organization is essential
- Strong track record in initiating and delivering change, engendering a common culture, and developing leadership and management capability to deliver sustainable performance
- Strong influencing skills and ability to positively and sensitively work with stakeholders
- Relationship management skills, ability to build and create a strong internal network across levels and disciplines
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
