Technical Writer - Permanent - Edinburgh (Hybrid) - £46k

Harvey Nash are recruiting a Technical Writer on behalf of a really successful client based here in Edinburgh city centre who are pioneering in the LegalTech space, creating solutions to drive digital transformation in the legal industry.

The Technical Writer will join a small team working on new web applications that provide digital work places to high-profile clients. Forming technical documentation and creating the knowledge base for the applications. Content wise, the documentation will be for both internal and external audiences and will consist of web pages, videos, in-app tutorials, guides, etc. The Technical Writer will work closely with Product, Development and Training teams.

Day to day you will...
- Create and update content in the product knowledgebase
- Own and maintain release notes on Product Definition Document
- Own the structure and design of online support pages
- Work with product and development teams to provide timely, accurate and consumable documentation
- Build a repository of in-app user guides
- Contribute to the creation of training materials to support the client enablement team
- Acquire a deep knowledge of products and solutions. And an understanding of end user requirements.

About you...
- Experience of software technical writing, creating user friendly, articulate documentation from scratch
- Have an interest in the tech sector and movements in documentation and communication landscape
- Be familiar with image capturing and editing in relation to technical documentation
- Be proactive in identifying documentation needs and gaps, establishing feedback loops to drive improvements. Prioritising and planning documentation updates.
- Be familiar with technical authoring software tools
- Have experience of SaaS and Agile development environments
- Talented in writing clearly in plain English to convey complex technologies and processes
