Testing & Cloud Release Lead – Automation
Location: Leeds, with remote working
Salary / Benefits: to £55,000 p/a plus a range of benefits inc. pension, holidays, flexible and remote working, etc
Harvey Nash are representing a national leader in their field who are looking to add a technically skilled individual who will lead a team of QA and Release Engineers. This role will be accountable for quality assurance, release management and automation of all software, working closely with the software development and the wider IT teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality technical solutions. You will be responsible for establishing, growing and maintaining processes within the company, leveraging automation tools and applications services available in the cloud. You will lead platform provisioning, build deployment, software configuration, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and release engineering processes.
What are the key objectives?
Lead a team of Software QA and Release Engineers, encouraging automation throughout. This will include team organisation, recruitment, team motivation and daily management plus performance reviewing;
In collaboration with software development and colleagues across the business, work to reduce or eliminate manual or repetitive DevOps related tasks;
Create best practices around new technology and identify current gaps in processes;
Create tools and release automation so that deployments are painless and require minimal intervention;
Collaborate with developers to refine build, test, and release practices across the organisation;
Manage and enhance both automated and manual operational processes;
Build a culture of employee and customer satisfaction based on operational excellence, big picture understanding, continuous improvement, and proactive thinking.
What are we looking for?
A combination of skills, someone who is familiar with testing, software releases and DevOps, but not necessarily experienced in all;
Ideally hands-on experience in one of the above;
Previous experience leading a team;
Experienced in releasing quality software;
Familiarity with CI concepts and Agile-hybrid delivery models.
Any core experience working within Azure DevOps, CI/CD, automation testing or previous experience re-platforming legacy application to modern cloud platforms would be hugely beneficial.
In return they are offering a salary to £60,000 p/a plus a range of benefits inc. pension, holidays, flexible and remote working, etc.
