The City Job Index
Last count: 1489
Current count: 1744
Change: +17%
How is the index calculated?
Every week we count the number of City tech jobs that are advertised on leading IT recruitment websites, including eFinancial Careers, City Jobs, Jobserve, Jobsite, CW Jobs etc.
We also include Harvey Nash's own recruitment website.
We then work out the average per quarter and compare the current reading for each website with the inaugural reading on 27th August 2014 and calculate a percentage difference. These percentages are averaged out then fed into an overall index. The Index was set to an arbitrary 1000 on 27th August 2014.
So, for example, if the Index goes to 1300, it means there are 30% more City IT jobs advertised in the market compared to 27th August 2014.
