Harvey Nash are now inviting candidates to apply for the role of Programme Manager, this is a permanent role with frequent travel to our clients offices in Glasgow.
The Role
Working for a global organisation you will be responsible for the successful delivery of Programmes and projects within our clients Transformation Delivery portfolio and to support the implementation of Product teams. You will also be responsible for delivering change.
The role will be responsible for assessing, recommending and developing different programme and product team methodologies and approaches depending on business need and technology approach. Some example considerations would be, Waterfall/Agile/Bi-Multi-Modal, product vs project, and iterative development.
A snapshot of other responsibilities:
- The role requires effective coordination of the programme's projects and management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising.
- The annual portfolio of programmes and products is expected to be in excess of £25m with individual programmes in the region of circa £5m annually.
- The role is crucial for creating and maintaining focus, enthusiasm and momentum.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Highly experienced in setting up and operationalising product teams
- Extensive experience of leading large multi-stream programmes in complex, multiple stakeholder, matrix managed technology environments.
- Knowledge and expertise of shaping programmes and product teams utilising a variety of delivery frameworks, methodologies and tools.
- Managing Successful Programmes, having utilised the skills and methodologies on large scale programme execution.
- Experience of successfully leading large, complex Programmes. Requires leadership and negotiation skills and experience/in-depth knowledge of the business, business requirements analysis and IT processes.
- Very strong influencing skills and ability to communicate complex technologies and processes in a clear and coherent way.
- Experienced delivering projects/products in an outsourced environment, liaising with multiple business units, conflicting priorities and projects (both internal and external service providers and suppliers) at the same time.
- Ability to prioritise resources to ensure successful completion of projects to budget and timescale.
- Ability to motivate and lead teams in changing business environments.
- Ability to take a complex technical need or solution and explain it to a non-technical audience so that the impact on the business is easily understood.
- Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate resilience to ensure the correct solution is selected with a full understanding of the costs, timescales and risk involved.
- Experience of managing relationships to deliver complex programmes and product teams to budget and on time.
- Numerate, with the ability to interpret complex financial data, manage budgets and ensure effective financial control
