Closing Date: Friday 1st August at 6pm

Lancaster University Information Systems Services (ISS) department is looking for a Senior Developer to join the Build team on a Fixed Term Contract.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the technical delivery of high-impact integrations across key institutional systems, including Worktribe (research management), Agresso (Unit4) (finance), and Salesforce (KEEP). You will also contribute to wider integration plans involving PURE (Elsevier CRIS), PeopleXD, and potentially Tableau and Simitive, supporting a joined-up research and enterprise ecosystem.

About the Role

You will:

  • Design and implement integration solutions to connect core systems involved in research project and funder management.
  • Lead API exploration, mapping and orchestration between systems, including data transformation, reconciliation, and error handling.
  • Prototype and deliver synchronisations (e.g. project lifecycle data, funder records) using appropriate tools and techniques - including middleware or custom logic as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, system owners, and external vendors to ensure alignment on data models, authentication, and business process triggers.
  • Document integration logic, support secure authentication flows, and contribute to integration architecture strategy.

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong experience designing and building system integrations using REST APIs and standard data formats (e.g. JSON).
  • Working knowledge of authentication protocols (e.g. OAuth 2.0, API keys) and secure credential management.
  • Experience with middleware platforms (e.g. Azure Integration Services, Boomi, Mulesoft) or custom orchestration solutions.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following systems is advantageous: Salesforce (Apex/Flow/API), Agresso/Unit4, Worktribe, PURE, PeopleXD, or business intelligence/reporting tools such as Tableau or Simitive.
  • A collaborative, pragmatic mindset with the ability to work independently and contribute to broader delivery goals.

This is a delivery-focused role within a small, agile team at the centre of Lancaster's research systems landscape.
