About the role:
A public sector organisation is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support a series of digital transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will join a team responsible for delivering strategic and operational improvements through the implementation of modern digital and corporate solutions.
This role will focus on leading business analysis activities across several key projects, including the development of user-facing portals and enhanced data-sharing capabilities. A major component of the work will support a multi-year Business Information Transformation (BIT) Programme aimed at modernising how the organisation manages and uses its information.
The BIT Programme includes the rollout of a new SharePoint-based Business Information Hub, a unified search capability, and the migration from legacy systems to Microsoft 365 cloud solutions. It also leverages tools such as Microsoft Purview, Copilot, and Power BI to improve data governance and decision-making.
Main Duties:
- Lead impact assessments of business processes and systems to understand user workflows and challenges.
- Conduct stakeholder engagement to analyse current use of network drives, Microsoft Teams, and data handling practices.
- Define success criteria and translate requirements into clear acceptance criteria.
- Gather, analyse, and document solution requirements using business process models, use cases, and technical specifications.
- Facilitate communication between internal IT teams and external solution providers.
- Support benefits management and realisation throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong analytical skills with experience applying business analysis methodologies.
- Proven track record in medium to large-scale technology change programmes.
- Ability to manage business requirements from inception through to delivery.
- Skilled in documenting requirements, use cases, business rules, and UML modelling.
- Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Certifications such as AGILE, PRINCE2, Business Analysis, or ITIL.
- Technical understanding of integrated IT systems and the software development lifecycle.
