Main Duties:
Harvey Nash's Pub Sec client is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join the team within Digital Services.
As the Solution Architect you will be responsible for the overall solution architecture of the Future of the Programme including authentication and any nationally provided service. Working collaboratively with the programme team and external stakeholders, you will ensure secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions are delivered for education.
Lead the design of the programmes future solution architecture, including authentication, federated identity, and integration of national cloud-based services.
Ensure the programme authentication platform and federated identity services and any nationally provided services are designed and deployed to meet the needs of the clients security, compliance, and usability requirements
Design and oversee solutions that enable cloud-based solutions using single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), standards-based federation protocols, and user lifecycle management across multiple organisations and services.
Lead the replacement or integration of existing technology platforms, ensuring interoperability with legacy services and new digital platforms.
Perform and assure options analysis for new capabilities to ensure proposed solutions align with the target architecture and security strategy.
Establish best practice approaches for delivering SaaS-based solutions, applying them pragmatically across the programme.
Collaborate and work with customer organisations (including local authorities) and other national bodies to ensure all services meet the needs of education and its users.
Work closely with colleagues in iTECS and partner organisations to ensure authentication and identity services integrate seamlessly with Government services and equivalent environments in partner bodies.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across Directorates, Divisions, and customer organisations to ensure transition of services are well-managed.
Represent the programme in governance forums, architectural review boards, and external stakeholder engagements, ensuring alignment with security, privacy, and interoperability objectives
Essential Skills & Experience:
Deep experience defining target integration/technology architectures for corporate or government services, particularly in a cloud environment and aligning these to a programme strategy.
Experience with implementation of integrated cloud systems and data, including large scale data migration activities, complex integrations and delivery of robust security controls.
Familiarity with identity platforms, identity standards (e.g., Azure AD, Ping Identity, Okta, ForgeRock) and their integration into complex environments.
Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based authentication and federated identity solutions at scale, ideally in a multi-organisation or government context.
Experience leading in a multi-disciplinary team, with both business users and suppliers and large transformation programme exposure
