We recruiting for a leading financial services organisation undergoing an exciting period of transformation. To support a growing portfolio of strategic change initiatives, we are seeking a highly capable PMO Lead to strengthen programme governance, enhance delivery discipline and provide hands-on support across projects and programmes.


The Role

As the PMO Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping and maintaining high-quality programme governance across a complex change portfolio. You will combine strategic oversight with a practical, delivery-focused approach-supporting Programme Managers with robust reporting, risk and issue management, planning, and assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead PMO activities across multiple programmes and projects, ensuring governance standards are consistently applied.

  • Drive the creation and maintenance of programme plans, RAID logs, dependency maps and resource forecasts.

  • Produce high-quality programme and portfolio reporting, including dashboards, KPIs, and executive updates.

  • Provide hands-on support to programme and project teams to improve delivery accuracy, predictability, and control.

  • Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and change boards; ensure decisions are well-documented and followed through.

  • Champion best practice across the change community, continuously improving tools, templates and processes.

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders-including programme leads and business unit heads-to ensure transparency, alignment, and effective challenge.


About You

  • Strong experience in PMO, programme governance or portfolio management within financial services or another regulated sector.

  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels-able to see the bigger picture while getting hands-on when needed.

  • Excellent reporting capability, with advanced proficiency in producing clear, insightful and accurate management information.

  • Strong understanding of project and programme delivery methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, hybrid).

  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.

  • Proactive, organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about driving good practice.

  • MUST have experience working within financial services
