Senior / Lead Agile Delivery Manager (Strategic Delivery & Shared Capability)

£575 p/d (Inside IR35) BPSS eligibility required.
We are seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Agile Delivery Manager to drive key strategic initiatives supporting multiple digital delivery teams. The Senior Delivery Manager will have had previous government or public sector experience and be confident supporting a portfolio of strategic delivery initiatives, collaborating with engineering and product teams to identify, design and implement services, frameworks and components that improve delivery capability across the organisation. You will work across multiple contexts, ensuring teams are aligned, impediments are removed, and outcomes are delivered with clarity and pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Agile delivery practices across teams, ensuring effective planning, execution and tracking of sprint goals.
- Act as Scrum Master, facilitating Agile ceremonies and ensuring continuous improvement.
- Manage follow‑up actions, operational tasks and governance processes (e.g., Change Requests).
- Rapidly understand business goals, OKRs and product/technical roadmaps.
- Provide clear and timely reporting to stakeholders, ensuring transparency of progress, risks and issues.
- Support Product Managers in maintaining an ordered, prioritised backlog across multiple workstreams.
- Proactively remove blockers and manage dependencies to ensure smooth delivery.
- Collaborate closely with other Delivery Managers and engineering teams across the organisation.
- Build strong working relationships across delivery, engineering, product and external partners.
- Ensure alignment of teams to the delivery strategy, shared capabilities and technical enablers.
Essential Skills:
- Strong track record facilitating Agile ceremonies and practices.
- Excellent sprint planning, execution, tracking and reporting capability.
- Proven ability to manage risks, issues and dependencies across multiple teams.
- Experience working within software engineering or digital delivery environments.
- Experience coordinating parallel workstreams and ensuring synchronisation across teams.
- Competent using ServiceNow, Jira, Mural/Lucid or equivalent tools.
- Excellent communication, coupled with demonstrable problem‑solving ability and an Agile mindset.
Familiarity with modern engineering practices and platforms, including Azure / AWS, Terraform, Git branching strategies, Release pipeline creation and maintenance.
