Project Manager - Safety Compliance Improvement

Contract: 12 months
Location: Edinburgh (hybrid working)

Harvey Nash's public sector client is seeking an experienced Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery, from procurement through implementation, go‑live and handover.
  • Manage public sector procurement activities, including business case development, tendering, evaluation and contract award.
  • Develop and maintain robust project plans aligned to PRINCE2, Agile or hybrid methodologies.
  • Manage suppliers, contracts, budgets, risks, dependencies and programme reporting.
  • Work closely with digital architecture, business and technical teams to ensure effective system integration.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across business, digital, procurement and external suppliers.
  • Lead and motivate the project team, ensuring clear ownership, planning and delivery.

Essential Experience

  • Proven delivery of complex IT projects using Waterfall and/or Agile approaches.
  • Strong public sector procurement experience, including compliance with statutory procurement regulations.
  • Solid grounding in PRINCE2, Agile or hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Experience managing third‑party suppliers and delivering projects to time, cost and quality.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a resource‑constrained, programme‑led environment.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering compliance, safety, asset management or IMS solutions.
  • Experience of change, training or communications within transformation programmes.
  • Relevant project or programme management qualifications.
