Portfolio Finance Analyst

We are seeking a Portfolio Finance Analyst to support a large IT change portfolio. This role will focus on maintaining strong financial controls, managing project budgets, and providing cost accounting across a portfolio of 100+ projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver financial control across the IT project portfolio, including budget tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Support annual budgeting and roadmapping for IT projects
  • Provide financial support to project teams (budget management, POs, reconciliations, project close)
  • Ensure adherence to governance and financial reporting standards
  • Review and challenge funding requests to ensure alignment with approved budgets
  • Partner with project managers and stakeholders to monitor and improve financial performance
  • Contribute to project and portfolio review meetings, highlighting financial risks and insights

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of project cost accounting principles
  • Experience supporting project or portfolio budgeting cycles
  • Background within PMO / Portfolio Office environments
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Familiarity with Oracle Project Cost Accounting (or similar) desirable
  • Good understanding of project lifecycle delivery and governance frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail and proactive mindset
  • Collaborative team player with strong influencing skills
