Snr Cloud Infrastructure Engineer | 6 Month Contract | (OutsideIR35) | Hybrid, Edinburgh| Starting ASAP

About the Role:

You will be a subject expert in the field of On Premise and Cloud Infrastructure. The post holder will be a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with extensive experience working with both On Premise Infrastructure (Windows Environment) as well as Microsoft 365 and Azure Platforms.


You will need to be able to support Business as Usual requirements as well as provide support where needed on project activity, including a Data Centre Migration.

The key focus for this contract is to support the day to day operations of the business and develop the understanding around the On Premise and Cloud Infrastructure. As time progresses, there will be a desire to resource the contractor into project related activities ongoing.

Service Support and Development

  • Supporting Incidents and requests escalated to the Infrastructure Team.
  • Identifying and improving technical processes within the team.
  • Collaborating with other technical teams as part of incident management and process improvement.
  • Documenting technical process and supporting the technical skillset of the team. Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team.


Project Delivery

  • Contribute to assigned tasks associated with Microsoft 365 and Azure Services.
  • Contribute to assigned tasks associated with the Data Centre migration.

Service Development

  • Consult with others within the business and outside agencies to continuously improve service provision and make suggestions for improvements to systems and processes based on the architectural roadmap.
  • Keep current with market trends and new products in area of your specialism.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience of supporting enterprise solutions on Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and best practices.
  • Azure Front Door
  • Azure Application Gateway
  • Configure and support Azure Monitor.
  • Support CI/CD processes across multiple development teams.
  • Experience of On Premise Traditional Windows Infrastructure, including AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.etc.
  • Experience of working within project teams.
  • Comfortable with interacting with End users as part of support via face to face or remote tools.
