Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Consultant to join our Cloud Services team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role focused on designing, delivering and optimising enterprise-scale Azure Virtual Desktop solutions for a range of customers.

You will work across the full project lifecycle, from discovery and solution design through to implementation, migration, testing and operational handover, acting as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including host pools, session hosts, application delivery and image management.
  • Deliver secure, scalable Azure solutions aligned with customer requirements and Microsoft best practices.
  • Implement and support Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Azure networking and security services.
  • Configure and troubleshoot FSLogix profile solutions.
  • Automate deployments and operational tasks using PowerShell.
  • Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps practices using Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps or GitHub.
  • Lead customer workshops, technical assessments and design sessions.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation and support successful service transitions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience designing and delivering Azure Virtual Desktop solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder management experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of:

    • Azure Virtual Desktop
    • Microsoft Entra ID
    • Conditional Access
    • Azure Infrastructure & Networking
    • FSLogix
    • PowerShell
  • Experience producing technical designs, implementation documentation and customer-facing deliverables.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Certifications are preferred.
