Integration Architect | 11 Month Contract | (Inside IR35) | Hybrid, 2-3 days pw Glasgow| Starting ASAP

Day Rate: £670

You will:

  • Lead the design and assurance of end to end integrated systems, ensuring consistent, reusable and secure connectivity across the technology estate.
    Define, document and maintain architecture standards, patterns and reference models.
  • Design and assure designs based on SaaS, COTS, and in-house developed components ensuring effective use of cloud-native services and delivering robust API management, messaging, orchestration and security requirements for resilience.
  • Define and govern integration designs, including internal and external, 3rd-party integrations whilst ensuring appropriate versioning, documentation and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure designs meet non-functional requirements, including security, performance, resilience, scalability and cost efficiency in line with public sector standards.
  • Provide architectural assurance and challenge for designs presented through formal governance and review processes.
  • Work collaboratively with Technical Architects, delivery teams, platform teams, security specialists and external suppliers to deliver agreed integration architectures.
  • Support delivery teams during build and implementation phases by providing hands-on architectural guidance and resolving complex integration issues.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience operating as an Technical Architect or equivalent specialist architecture role within a large and complex organisation.
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, governing and supporting enterprise end to end solutions using COTS, SaaS, and in-house developed components.
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, governing and supporting the integration of end to end solution using an integration platform.
  • Strong knowledge of application architecture and enterprise application landscapes, including SaaS, COTS and bespoke applications.
  • Adept at integrating secure by design principles into architecture work
  • Demonstrable experience defining design standards, reference architectures, design principles and technical roadmaps.
  • Strong experience documenting and articulating architectural concepts and architecture designs
  • Experience leading architectural governance activities and providing technical assurance through Architecture Review Boards or equivalent governance forums.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, suppliers, delivery teams and executive audiences, translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Experience working within Agile and multidisciplinary delivery environments.
  • Experience working in large public sector organisations with an understanding of government digital service standards and governance processes.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of AWS Cloud architecture.
  • Demonstrable experience defining and governing API strategies, including:

o REST APIs
o Event-driven APIs
o API lifecycle management
o Security standards
o Versioning and governance models

  • Strong understanding of integration architecture patterns and their appropriate application, including:

o Point-to-point integration
o Hub-and-spoke
o Event-driven architecture
o Publish-subscribe
o Microservices integration
o Data integration and synchronisation patterns
o Hybrid cloud integration
