Systems Payroll Consultant
6-Month Contract | Outside IR35 | 1-2 Days per Week in Ashby
We are looking for an experienced Systems Payroll Consultant to join us on a 6-month contract. The role will be based in Ashby, with 1-2 days per week on site.
The successful consultant will review our current payroll processes and systems, identify opportunities to streamline and improve efficiency, and provide practical recommendations.
The initial focus will be on variable pay, shift allowances, overtime and related payroll processes. The exact number of colleagues and sites impacted is still being established.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit current system integrations and understand how our systems interact and share data.
- Review our current payroll landscape, systems and processes.
- Identify integration issues, system limitations and opportunities to streamline processes.
- Troubleshoot existing system issues and identify root causes where possible.
- Review the split of responsibilities and processes between HRSS and Payroll.
- Review the new starter process, identifying opportunities to speed up processing and reduce manual intervention. We currently process approximately 80 new starters per month, although this varies.
- Investigate a current issue within Worklinq where functionality is not working as expected and the root cause is currently unknown.
- Review the full employee lifecycle, including starters, leavers, job changes and pay increases.
- Review processes around variable pay, shift allowances, overtime and other payments.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Systems Consultant with a strong understanding of payroll processes, systems and integrations.
You should have experience in:
- Payroll process and systems improvement
- System integrations and data flows
- Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Variable pay, overtime and shift allowances
- Employee lifecycle processes
- Working across HRSS and Payroll
The ability to work independently, analyse complex processes and provide clear, practical recommendations is essential.
