VoIP Engineer / Telephony Projects Engineer - Greater Manchester (Hybrid) - Contract (Outside IR35)
We are supporting a public sector organisation who are looking for an experienced VoIP Engineer / Telephony Projects Engineer to lead the migration from their existing 8x8 telephony and contact centre platform to Microsoft Teams Telephony on an initial 3-month contract basis.
Requirements:
- Strong experience delivering VoIP and telephony transformation projects.
- Proven track record of leading migrations from legacy telephony platforms to Microsoft Teams Telephony.
- Experience assessing complex telephony environments and developing migration and rollout strategies.
- Hands-on experience configuring and implementing Microsoft Teams Phone solutions.
- Ability to manage stakeholders across technical and business teams while driving adoption and change.
- Experience working with contact centre and unified communications platforms such as 8x8, Teams Phone or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of telephony licensing, optimisation and cost reduction initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the current 8x8 telephony and contact centre estate and identify opportunities for rationalisation and optimisation.
- Develop and deliver the migration strategy from 8x8 to Microsoft Teams Telephony.
- Lead the end-to-end rollout, configuration and implementation of the Teams Telephony solution.
- Review current licensing usage and implement recommendations to reduce unnecessary spend.
- Work closely with technical teams, suppliers and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide guidance on best practice VoIP, telephony and unified communications solutions.
