Senior Project Manager - Digital Transformation

£550 p/d (outside IR35)
A public sector organisation is delivering a portfolio of strategic change programmes to modernise services through digital transformation. A Senior Project Manager is required to lead complex agile and hybrid projects, ensuring high-quality delivery, strong governance, and measurable business value.
This role will lead multidisciplinary teams and work closely with senior stakeholders, Product Owners, and delivery leads to align outcomes with organisational priorities and delivery frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project delivery, ensuring strong governance and alignment to internal methodologies
- Manage multiple concurrent projects across agile and traditional delivery models
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders, suppliers, and delivery partners
- Own and manage RAID, proactively mitigating risks and dependencies
- Lead and coach delivery teams to drive performance and collaboration
- Provide clear reporting to governance boards on progress, risks, and benefits
- Support business change and ensure successful adoption of digital solutions
Essential Experience
- Proven track record delivering complex agile/hybrid projects with measurable outcomes
- Strong project leadership, planning, governance, and reporting capability
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience managing suppliers and contracts
- Background in software delivery and business change
- Understanding of Digital First and GDS standards
It is advantageous if you had Agile (Scrum, SAFe, AgilePM) or project certifications (PRINCE2, PMP, MSP), experience with user-centred design and research and/or familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
