Project Manager (IT & Business Change)

£400/£450 p/d Inside
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects (typically 3-5), spanning IT, software development, and business change initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of projects across:
- Agile and/or waterfall software development
- Business change and process improvement
- IT procurement and implementation
- Business case development and options appraisal
- System upgrades, infrastructure and resilience (BC/DR)
- Develop and maintain project plans, resources, budgets, and timelines
- Lead cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and reporting to senior stakeholders
- Collaborate with business analysts to gather and refine requirements
- Ensure strong governance, communication, and stakeholder engagement throughout
Essential Experience
- Proven track record delivering IT and/or transformation projects
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in complex environments
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall or hybrid)
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and delivery to time/quality targets
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proactive, organised, and able to deliver at pace
Desirable Experience
- Experience within Higher Education or similar complex environments
- Software procurement and public sector delivery experience
- Programme-level delivery or working within structured programmes
- ITIL/service management familiarity
- Business analysis capability (requirements gathering, user stories, process mapping)
- Exposure to UX principles
- Experience delivering business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives
- Relevant Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, Agile)
- Business Analysis certification (desirable)
