Business Analyst (Change & Transformation)
Contract | Initial 3 Months | Outside IR35 | Greater Manchester (2 days per week onsite)
We're looking for an experienced Change Business Analyst to join a major transformation programme, helping an organisation identify inefficiencies, streamline processes, and deliver tangible cost-saving improvements across multiple departments.
This is a highly visible role with full backing from the CIO and wider IT leadership team. You'll be tasked with assessing current ways of working, identifying process and people-related challenges, and implementing practical improvements that drive better performance and operational efficiency.
The Role
You'll initially focus on one area of the business, carrying out a detailed assessment of existing processes, team structures, and operational challenges. From there, you'll recommend and support improvements before repeating the approach across other business functions.
This role requires someone who can quickly build credibility, challenge existing practices, and confidently engage stakeholders at all levels to understand where bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and performance issues exist.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and document current business processes and operating models
- Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost savings
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to understand current challenges
- Analyse whether issues stem from process, structure, capability, or ways of working
- Define and recommend improvements to business processes and team effectiveness
- Support change initiatives and help drive adoption of new ways of working
- Produce clear documentation, process maps, and improvement plans
- Work closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes
- Establish a repeatable approach that can be rolled out across multiple departments
Desirable Experience
- Working in organisations undergoing transformation or turnaround initiatives
- Lean, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or Business Process Improvement experience
- Experience reviewing both operational processes and organisational structures
- Public or private sector transformation experience
