Project Manager - Transformation & Change
Contract | Initial 3 Months | Outside IR35 | Greater Manchester (2 Days Onsite)
We are seeking a highly driven and hands-on Project Manager to lead a critical business transformation programme focused on operational improvement, organisational change, cost reduction, and technology enablement.
This is not a traditional PM role. We need someone who is equally comfortable defining solutions as they are delivering them. You'll be joining a challenging environment where projects and teams require direction, structure, and tangible outcomes. The successful candidate will identify opportunities for improvement, drive change initiatives, and deliver measurable business value.
The Role
You'll initially focus on one business area before rolling out a repeatable approach across multiple departments. The role requires someone who can quickly assess problems, establish governance, restructure delivery teams where required, and ensure projects are brought back on track and successfully delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of project delivery, governance, and reporting
- Assess failing or underperforming projects and implement recovery plans
- Define practical solutions and lead their implementation
- Identify operational inefficiencies and opportunities for cost savings
- Drive business change initiatives and support adoption of new ways of working
- Lead team restructuring and help create more effective delivery models
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across IT and the wider business
- Establish project controls, governance frameworks, and delivery standards
- Identify opportunities to utilise AI and automation to improve efficiency
- Deliver measurable outcomes and tangible business improvements
- Create a repeatable transformation approach that can be applied across multiple functions
